Noah Larsen, son of Eric and Carrie Larsen of DeKalb, received the Eagle Scout Award as a member of Boy Scout Troop 33, sponsored by the First Lutheran Church in DeKalb. The Eagle Scout award is scoutings highest honor.

Larsen began his scouting journey in first grade with Cub Scout Pack 134 in Cortland. He earned the Arrow of Light, the highest award in Cub Scouts, before continuing his trail to Eagle with Boy Scout Troop 33. Leadership included serving as quartermaster, assistant aenior patrol leader, senior patrol leader and assistant scoutmaster.

Always active in numerous camping trips and activities, his cold weather adventures included; Klondike Derbies, cabin campouts, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and sledding. Summer camp experience at Camp Lowden included several summers as a camper plus four years working as a staff member.

High adventure experiences included the 2014 Kentucky Adventure, 2015 Boundary Waters canoe trip and the 2019 Shawnee Adventure. He helped with tornado disaster relief efforts in Fairdale and Washington, Illinois.

Larsen was inducted into Scoutings honor society, the Order of the Arrow. He earned 26 merit badges, earning the Bronze Palm for his Eagle Scout Award.

His Eagle project involved construction of a concrete flag retirement area for the American Legion Post in DeKalb, which also included a flag retirement ceremony event open to the community.

Larsen is a graduate of DeKalb High School Class of 2019 and now serving in the U.S. Army 1st Cavalry Division as a tanker currently stationed in Lithuania.
