This is a photo of what DeKalb looked like when Boy Scout Troop 33 was originally chartered in 1925. This photo looks northeast from 4th and Main St (Lincoln Hwy) downtown with it's barbed wire mills in full production.

Look closely right of center and you can see the train station. Just below that is the large Haish factory, which was razed in the early 1970's and is now the location of the downtown McDonalds restaurant. Beyond are more barbed wire factories and just barely visible through the smoke near the horizon is the Wurlitzer plant.
